You Can Combine Your Landline Phone With Your Cellphone
With everyone on the planet owning a cell phone it was only a matter of
time before the two would combine in some sort of fashion. Cellphone sales
have gone up in the last decade to unbelievable proportions so it only makes
sense that it would hurt landline phones in the long run.
If you are a single guy living in New York City there really is no reason to
have a phone in your apartment. Ok well you might need it for an internet
connection but you can get that through cable. This saves you money as you
don't have to pay local phone charges anymore.
If you have a landline phone in your house and your always on your cell
phone using your minutes there are a few devices that could make your life
easier and save you money on your wireless bill.
We just checked out and bought the RCA Cell Docking System at Circuit City
and we were impressed with the features. Although it worked on the 2.4
gigahertz range it didn't really interfere with our wireless router but I
think we just got lucky.
We docked our cell phone in the cradle and set up our RCA home phone next to
it. When the cell phone rang we had the option of answering the cellphone or
the home phone and pressing cell button on the receiver.
Needless to say you could save money depending on your wireless plan. You
can make all your nights and weekend calls using the cell phone airtime
instead of your landline phone.
Before you run out and buy one you should make sure that your cell phone
will work with this system. As of this writing they work with a few
Motorola, Cingular and Sony Erickson phones.
I am sure that as these devices get better and people hear about them they
will quickly become available for other phones too. Having it work with my
Palm would be great Until then I will just have to suffer I guess |
