The History Of Cell Phones In Today's Market Where Did It All Begin
The history of cell phones is a very interesting story, 1947 marks the
first time cell and phones came as one idea. Even with it a start in 1947,
it was still another twenty-one years before the cell phone industry really
got going. Part of the problem was the FCC didn't want to open up a lot of
frequencies for cell phone use.
AT&T and Bell labs were really the first main companies that brought cell
phone technology to the forefront. AT&T idea was building towers and as you
went to different regions the calls would be transferred to the different
towers as you traveled. It wasn't until 1977 that public testing was done on
cell phones.
After years of testing in 1983 the first cell phone company was formed call
Ameritech out of Chicago Illinois. They were the first analog cellular phone
company. As years have gone by more companies have jumped in on the growing
market.
In 1988 many changes to the mobile phone market was made. Some of these
innovations were many different organizations were formed to study the
cellular phone industry by the government. So where is the wireless industry
headed?
Cell phone use continues to rise and with built in camera's and games and
the ability to send emails with a cell phone, it looks like it could be
endless. Where will end, who knows, the ultimate winner is the consumer and
I like that. |
