Cell Phones In Schools Should They Be Allowed In The First Place
One of the most asked questions these days in schools are to have cell
phones or to just ban them altogether. Cell phones in schools is a tough
issue no matter who's side you take with the issue of phones in schools.
Many educators have problems with cell phones in school and consider them a
disruption of the learning process. They contend the phones will interrupt
the learning process by the students instant messaging friends instead of
listening to the teachers class discussion.
One other growing problem with cell phones in school is the camera phone.
Camera phones are becoming an invasion of privacy with students take
pictures of things they shouldn't or people who don't want their picture
taken. This could just cause more friction and disruptions for the teachers.
It's hard enough for the teachers in today's world.
Now you have the other side of the fence on the issue of cell phones in
schools. Some teachers think it's okay as long as kids are not making calls
all the time. The other thing is if there is an emergency in the classroom
or school they could become an invaluable tool that could help save lives.
We have seen kids calling out during school shootings to the police and the
news stations.
So, as you can see there are good points to each side of the cell phones in
school debate. It's going to come down to each schools own preference and
what they feel is right. Maybe that's the best thing to do leave it in the
schools hands. If you are a parent and you are reading this you may want
to put the word ICE in your kids phone. This way you
can be contacted if anything happens to your child. |
