How Cell Phones Work To Make Life Easier
One question I hear all the time is how do cell phones work. It's really
a simple process and as a kid you probably actually played with what was
really what today's cell phone is based on. If you go back a few years when
you were a kid there was the walkie talkie with two strings attaching them.
Well this basically where it all started. The cell phone of today is just a
very advanced walkie-talkie with incredible capabilities. Years ago you had
the Citizens band radio which truck drivers still use and their limit is
around 5 miles. The cell phone has no limit.
Citizen Band radios have 40 channels where a cell phone can actually have
over 1600 channels and use cells to transmit data and voices. Cell phone
calls are unprotected and subject to be intercepted which a lot of people
don't realize.
All cell phones are either analog or digital. Most of today's phones are
digital as analog isn't in use much anymore. So how does cell phones work
and let you make a call no matter where you live? You dial and number which
reaches a cell phone provider, it's then check to make sure your a paying
customer and transfer the calls to the nearest cell tower.
The call is than put through to who your trying to reach and this all
happens in mere seconds. Dropped calls are getting fewer and fewer as the
years go by. Cell phones will just getting better as the years go by. I
think in a few years we might not have regular home phones like we do now.
It will all be cellular. |
